Viva! 1 John focuses on four of the major themes found in John’s first epistle. Week 1: Light This lesson will help us see that a life spent walking in the light is a life of confident living—because it’s a life we know is full of the love God calls us toward. Week 2: Abide This lesson will take a look at what John means when he calls followers of Christ to “abide,” and how abiding will help us remain with Jesus, experiencing the light and love John speaks of. Week 3: Love This lesson will help you and your students to recognize, as John did, that God and love are one and the same. Week 4: Confidence In this lesson, we will look at how allowing ourselves to abide with God, full of light and love, also allows us to claim a lasting and deep confidence in who we are as Christ’s followers.
