Growing in our relationship with Christ isn’t just for people who attend services or youth group, but it’s also for those who are leading the church. It doesn’t matter how long someone has been a Christ follower or what title they may hold in leadership; there are always ways that we can grow more in the likeness of Jesus. The letter written by Paul to Titus helps remind us of this lesson. During one of his missionary journeys, Paul left Titus on the island of Crete to lead the church community there. He then writes to encourage Titus in his own faith, give him guidance on organizing the church, who to appoint as leaders, and advise him on the things he should be teaching to the community. Most of all, he reminds Titus repeatedly in the letter what the whole point of his work really is.
Viva! Titus will explore this letter from Paul and discuss how the lessons written for Titus and the Cretans back in the first century translate to our lives today.
Here is what we’ll be discussing:
Week 1: The Plan (Titus 1:1-4)
Week 2: Leading Well (Titus 1:5-16)
Week 3:Living Well (Titus 2:1-3:2)
Week 4: Don’t Forget (Titus 3:3-15)
