Conflict is normal. It doesn’t matter how old you are, where you’re from, how much money you have or anything else; one constant in life is that as long as we are alive and in relationships with others, we will have conflicts with others. At the deepest level, conflict is simply born out of the fact that we are different – we have different personalities, beliefs, and preferences – and those differences are a beautiful gift from God when we can learn to love one another despite them. But that is easier said than done at times.

Viva! Conflict explores four passages from Scripture that deal with the issue of conflict. We’ll explore why conflict happens, what the Bible teaches us as far as how to best handle conflict and what we are called to as Christ followers in the midst of our differences. Specifically, we will look at the following:

Week 1: James 4:1-12
Week 2: Ephesians 4:25-5:2
Week 3: Matthew 18:15-20
Week 4: Romans 12:9-21
