Throw a Halloween Party this year as a way to break away your group from the weekly routine of small groups, Sunday sermons, and whatever other routines you may have in place.
Parties are great for building community amongst your group and to encourage students to connect with others outside of their small groups and to reconnect with the new friends they have made at events, retreats, and camps.
“The Halloween Party” has been used in the trenches of youth ministry for several years and has been fine-tuned specifically for you. Everything from the games to administrative tools have been created and included for easy and immediate use. All you need to do is implement the plan and have fun with your students.
In this resource you will find that all documents are in Microsoft Word and are 100% editable to fit your specific youth group context.
This Resource Includes:
1. Party Shopping List: A complete list of everything you’ll need to borrow from your janitor’s supply closet, children’s ministry cupboards, or senior pastor’s office. You can also buy these items at the local grocery store, if needed. (Note: This is not an Amazon Shopping list as you might find in other resources on the DYM website.)
2. Party Setup/Checklist: A complete checklist of everything you will need in order to set up ahead of time for your Halloween Party.
3. Party Outline/Manuscript: A 1,300-word outline/manuscript of how to run the event. This will give you exactly what to say and when to say it – along with what to do and when to do it!
4. Costume Contest Folder: In this folder you’ll find four files needed to run a creative and entertaining costume contest for your students.
5. Pumpkin Coloring Contest Folder: This folder contains three documents needed to hold a silly coloring contest for students during their mingling time. It’ll make for a fun aesthetic in your room as well.
6. Game: "Who's Behind the Mask?" (PowerPoint and 10 Q&A Slides) and "Who's Behind the Pie?" (Word Doc instructions, additional supplies required)
7. Post Party Evaluation: After every party it’s important to sit down and evaluate what things you liked, need to improve on, or would blow up completely. This resource includes the post party evaluation from the trenches as well as a template for you to use yourself after the party is over.
