We are surrounded by "a great cloud of witnesses" to the faith of Jesus Christ. These witnesses testify to what God has done in their lives.

In this one-off message, students will remember those who have gone before them and encourage them to be inspired by the faithfulness of those whom they have lost. While students may grieve their loss, they can celebrate a loved one's faithfulness to God and be encouraged that they too will one day be counted in that Great Cloud of Witnesses in heaven.

If your church does not celebrate this Christian holiday, consider using this message at an annual memorial service to help your students grieve and celebrate loss. Another idea would be to adapt this message at a funeral service when such an occasion arises.
