Details
Song of Solomon is one of the more challenging books of the Bible to teach, but it's also an incredible opportunity to walk teens through God's heart for sex and love. This is a three-week series that dives into this explicit 3000 year old poetry and finds application for today.
Week 1: Enthusiastic
The series kicks off with a look at Song of Solomon 2:1-6 and 4:1-7 and explores God's purpose for creating sex through the eyes of the young man and woman speaking in these poems.
Week 2: Love
There are three different words in the ancient Hebrew for love in Song of Solomon; commitment love, friendship love, and physical love, giving a recipe for God's heart for the type of love He desires couples to have for one another in marriage.
Week 3: Awaken
The series concludes with a look at a warning that shows up three times over the course of Song of Solomon to not awaken love until it is time. The intimate love found in Song of Solomon is compared to a fire; it can be good, but it can also be dangerous, and this warning is worth listening to.
The series includes full manuscripts, handouts, presentation slides, discussion guides, image files, and game recommendations.
