Rehoboam's Folly is a one-off message that looks at the reign of Solomon's son, Rehoboam, found in 1 Kings 12. Rehoboam faced a decision and sought advice, which was good. But He didn't like the advice was given, so he kept asking others until he found the advice he liked, which was bad advice. His bad decision and lack of wisdom ultimately led to the Israelite nation splitting in two with his life being summed up as having done evil in the sight of God.
This message challenges students to make wise decisions by going to God, seeking wise advice, and accepting wise advice.
This message can be used with middle school, high school, college-age, or as a sermon to the whole congregation.
