Can your students name famous songs within 20 seconds? How about their artist? Put their listening skills and musical knowledge to the test!

Details

If you've got some musically inclined kids, this is the game for them!

Two students will compete head-to-head to name a song within the first 20 seconds of it playing. The catch? They get points for knowing the artist, too, and three times the points if they can name the album, movie, show, or game it comes from! The other catch? Once they get an answer wrong, their opponent has a chance to earn the remaining points on the board by guessing correctly.

You can play this by splitting the room into two teams:

  • Leaders vs students,
  • Boys vs girls,
  • Right down the middle like Moses did...however!

Each team will send up one representative per round to score their team points. If the first player to buzz in can't name all the categories, the second player has a chance to guess to earn those points!

Songs include a range from older classics, popular artists (today and from their childhood), and TV shows, movies, and games that will hit a wide audience. None of the songs are explicit (it's church!), and none of them are worship songs (nobody wants to be shamed for not knowing a worship song!). A Link to Spotify Playlist is included, music files are not included.

This Resource Includes:

  • Complete PowerPoint game file
  • Individual (10 Q&A) + instructions) game slides (jpeg files)
  • Title slide (jpeg file)
  • Link to a Spotify playlist with the songs (pdf file)

About this Product
Cut the music once a team buzzes in, but if the second team has a chance to grab the remaining points, give them the chance to listen to the remainder of the 20 seconds. Also, don't be afraid to dock points if you've got some cheaters out there feeding answers from the crowd!
