In John 17, Jesus prayed for those he was leaving behind, his disciples, and those they would reach. He prayed for something that he said would be a powerful example of the truth of the message of the Gospel. It's nothing flashy like miraculous powers or supernatural gifts. It's something that seems easy, but in reality has proven all but impossible.Jesus prayed for unity. He prayed that his followers would be "ONE" and that through their oneness, the world would be changed.
This retreat study will help you and your students understand the unity the Christ calls us to, and why it is ESSENTIAL to the purpose of the body of Christ. You'll study:
ONE WAY: Remembering, or discovering for the first time, that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation.
ONE WITH CHRIST: That once your life has been surrendered to Christ, you are not just with him, but actually united with him!
ONE IN CHRIST: Not only are you untied to Christ, but you are also united with all those who are believers as well: the body of Christ.
ONE MISSION: While each believer is unique and gifts and calling, our ultimate call is all the same: to spread the message of the Gospel for the glory of God.
