2 Week Series on Prayer and Worship

Details

The primary teaching of this series is prayer and worship. Although there will be discussion on why not to say "O My God," the primary focus is why and when we should say the same phrase. Most of the Scripture for this series will be taken out of the Psalms.

WEEK 1 - Cries of Desperation
Main Theme: As we see in the Psalms, sometimes we cry out to God for help. We seek Him to fill us with His joy, His peace, or His comfort. There are serious times in life when we cry out, "Oh, my God I need you."
Main Verse: Psalm 40:17 As for me, I am poor and needy, but the Lord takes thought for me. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God!

WEEK 2 - A Sense of Awe
Main Theme: As an act of worship we should have awe and wonder over who God is, His mighty acts of power, and His sovereignty (we'll define that word) over our life. In times of worship we cry out, "Oh, my God, you are awesome."
Main Verse: Psalm 71:22 I will also praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praises to you with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.
