Details
First and Second Kings, originally one book that was later split into two, is not just a historical record of all the kings of Israel and Judah. It's a powerful look at the importance of choices, as the writer examines how each king either chose to do right in the eyes of the Lord or chose to do evil in the eyes of the Lord.
Students will be challenged to be intentional with their choices as they set the patterns of their lives through the study of three of the kings, Solomon, Ahab, and Hezekiah, while also learning the significance of the book of Kings.
The series includes manuscripts, handouts, PowerPoint, small group discussion guides, image files, and four bumper videos.
Week 1: Solomon the Wise
Through the story of Solomon, students learn that choosing wisdom brings joy, gives life, and is free for the asking.
Week 2: Solomon the Fool
Through the story of Solomon's tragic ending, students are challenged to choose to guard their desires, their actions, and their path.
Week 3: Ahab the Evil
Through the story of Ahab, students learn the need to choose friends wisely and to choose to be godly friends.
Week 4: Hezekiah the Good
Through the story of Hezekiah, students learn to choose to go to God in prayer with praise, boldness, and a listening ear.
