Losing focus in our relationship with the Lord is easy to do. We need gentle reminders of the importance of focusing on Christ. Hebrews 12:2 tells us to "fix our eyes of Jesus." So, the big question is... are you? Have you allowed so many distractions/ temptations to come into your life that you have lost your focus?

Over the next seven weeks we will bring some things into focus. These are just some of the characteristics (in no particular order) that are essential for having the right focus on God.

Week 1. "Focus on Jesus." Memory verse: Hebrews 12:1-3

Life gets blurry and there are so many distractions. Let's identify these distractions and take practical steps to focus on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith.

Week 2. "Focus on Salvation." Memory verse: Romans 10:9-10

It is not a burden to walk in obedience. Our love for Him leads us to unhesitating obedience to His Will for our lives.

Week 3. "Focus on Obedience." Memory verse: 1 John 5:2-3

Salvation is found in no one but Christ.

Week 4. "Focus on Serving Others." Memory verse: Matthew 25:35-36

Serving others is not about us. Not for a position, recognition or status. We serve out of a genuine love for God and a heart that seeks to make someone better than ourselves.

Week 5. "Focus on His Word." Memory verse: Psalms 119:9-11

Week 6. "Focus on His Plan." Memory verse: Isaiah 55:8-9

One of the greatest questions I hear from high school students is, "I don't know what I want to do with my life." Well, God does.

Prayer is an untapped resource for believers.
