It is gospel-centered, actionable, and bite-sized. It is accessible enough for newer believers and challenging enough for pastor's kids. These are books we typically aren't pointing students to, but we need to help them build biblical literacy! Understanding the Pentateuch/Torah is really important to understanding all of Scripture.
This is the perfect add-on to a series you plan to do on any of these books, as a grow-on-your-own resource, or to have available for small groups and mentoring relationships. You could use it creatively on social media as well!
We use these devotionals with every series we do at my church! I have several others in the DYM store. They are beautifully designed by Isaac Leimeister!
The idea for the title comes from Psalm 1:1–3: “Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.”
