Details
This game is a great group icebreaker. It uses each person’s cellphone camera and videos of fast-scrolling colors to create random small groups. Then, those small groups answer fun get-to-know-you-type questions. It’s a great icebreaker that can be used many times.
MORE INSTRUCTIONS:
Using the included PowerPoint file or pictures/video files, play the video with the quickly scrolling colors on your screen. Have students take out their phones and take a picture of the screen. Each person will get a picture of a random solid color. Have the students get into small groups with people who took the same color picture. Then, get to know the people in your group better by answering the get-to-know-you type question.
CUSTOMIZABLE.
There are videos with different numbers of color options to get different-sized groups. There are 4, 6, 8, and 10 color options for ultimate flexibility.
If you have a small group of people, use the 4-color option for four different groups. If you have a large group, use the 10-color option to get small groups. If you have a large group and want bigger small groups, then use the smaller color option. The game also includes a blank question slide so you can add your own questions.
Play one round each week for a short get-to-know-you time at your event, or play several rounds so the game goes longer.
You can even use this resource as a method for making random small groups for many different games and activities.
