This is a fun and simple video-based game that will surprise a lot of students. We see these symbols every day, but do we know their official names? For example, # is not a hashtag, but is actually called an octothorpe! The others may be simple for us, but students have a tough time! Simply play a question slide that will show one of the symbols on the screen. Give contestants time to either guess, buzz in, or write down their answers. If they’re correct, play the next slide that has a, “Right” sound effect. If they’re wrong, play the slide after that which has a, “Wrong!” sound effect. All slides are animated so they flow seamlessly together.
