Boundaries aren’t just good things; they are “God things.” God used boundaries in His creation. Jesus used boundaries when He lived on earth. Boundaries keep good things in and bad things out. Healthy boundaries are something you set to protect your well-being and to help you feel safe, respected, and valued. Boundaries is a two-week series.
We are commanded to guard our hearts and minds from the world's influence. And when we handle boundaries correctly, we are free to be who God created us to be, and we can love others well. Boundaries are important for all of us.
Setting boundaries may take some practice, especially if you’re not used to setting and living by them. When you are honest about your needs and communicate them clearly, you will be able to set healthy boundaries. When you don’t set healthy boundaries, your relationships with others could become toxic, and your well-being could suffer. If you ignore someone else’s boundaries, you could make them feel uncomfortable and damage your relationship with them.
When we treat each other with kindness and respect, we are a reflection of Jesus. We not only obey what Jesus commands us to do, but it also allows us to become healthier people and others to become healthy.
