Everyone loves a great onstage trivia game. As long as the questions are interesting or the answers are funny, most students will stay engaged.Beat the Volunteer raises the bar on the average screen-based trivia game by adding a fun consequence for a volunteer (or two) when he or she answers incorrectly! Here’s how it works:
Bring one of your beloved volunteers onto the stage and have him/her bring two students along. Have your volunteer take a seat in a chair or on a stool in the center of the stage and have the students stand on either side of the volunteer. Hand each of the students a pool noodle.
Ask the volunteer to give an answer to the first question. If he/she answers incorrectly, the students get the chance to “beat the volunteer” with the pool noodles for 5 seconds (or whatever you feel is an appropriate amount of time). Then go on to the next question.
You can change it up by bringing up 2 or 3 volunteers and have them take turns answering the question or have them all answer and only those who get the question wrong get the 5-second beating.
THANKSGIVING EDITION:
May want to swap the pool noodles out for something that says “Thanksgiving” like a stuffed turkey!
