The question that started on TikTok is now popping up everywhere: How often do you think about the Roman Empire? The discussion ranges from boring to fascinating, but do students even know when they are thinking about the Roman Empire?

In this timely, challenging, engaging, and funny ""this-or-that"" screen game, students will be presented with different thoughts that may come up throughout a day. They must decide if there is something inside that thought that ties back to the Roman Empire. 

Have one wall of your room be ""Roman Empire"" side and the other be ""Not Roman Empire."" Students walk to the side of their guess. If they are right, they stay in. If they are wrong sit down. Last one standing wins.
Play it as a stage game with a few students who think they know their history. Play it in small groups where they can keep score.

Plan ahead of time how you will handle objections (ex. "the screen never lies, sorry," or "a compelling enough appeal may award you a point."
