It's always good to have a host to read the written content and interact with the students coming in as it brings a fun energy and sets the tone for the service/event. We did a no-tech game night (and turned off the internet) and used this as a pre-service countdown. We had the Google page up and had students play the no internet dino game on a few computers to see who could get the highest score (all while the countdown was going on). The student with the highest score after five minutes won a small prize. It was a hit and set the night off really well!
