Doug's note: Wow! A ton of work went into this resource. How do we grow—physically, mentally, and emotionally? We typically grow by being challenged, creating memories, and journeying through life with others. This is also how we can grow and cultivate our spiritual walk with God: through challenging ourselves each month to grow in a specific area. In this resource, you'll get 30 different challenges for students to engage in each month. These challenges range from internal experiences to practical fasts from media, fast food, etc. The goal here is to create opportunities for students to be appropriately challenged in order for good discussion and training to take place. As youth workers, we often come to the realization of how important it is for us to find healthy ways to challenge our students in their walks with Christ, and how to help students realize that God's a part of all we do. It was with that thought that these 30-day challenges were born. Use these challenges with your student leadership teams, mission trip teams, volunteer leaders, to come alongside and support your sermons, or to give to your group as a whole. These challenges are great for team building, cultivating spiritual disciplines, and creating opportunities to discuss life. Here are five sneak peaks so that you can get an idea of what these challenges look like. 1. The Water Challenge | Can you make water the only liquid in your diet for 30 days? 2. The Presence Challenge | Can you avoid talking about anyone who isn’t present in your conversations for 30 days? 3. The Prayer Challenge | Can you intentionally set aside 30 minutes every day for 30 days, to spend time in prayer to your heavenly Father? 4. The Healthy Challenge | Can you be intentional with every decision you make for the next 30 days by first asking the question, “Is this healthy for my soul, mind, and heart?” before choosing something? 5. The Encouragement Card Challenge | Can you write and send out one encouragement card a day for 30 days to 30 different people in your life who you’d like to encourage for one reason or another?
