This series is all about establishing that God wants to Transform us into who he wants us to be. Essentially the main teaching of this series is based on the theological concept of Sanctification.
WEEK 1 – BECOME
This is the beginning. Before you can transform, you must become a follower of Christ. At the same time the phrase “being transformed” indicates a present tense action. Being a follower of Jesus isn’t something that just happened to you in the past, but following Jesus is a choice we make everyday.
WEEK 2 – RENEW
In Romans it is clear we transform by renewing our mind. This message will deal with what we put into our mind — what movies we watch, TV shows we like, music we listen too, and even what we look at on the internet. As we begin to be the person God wants us to be, we must rid ourselves of unhealthy things, AND replace it with the things of Christ.
WEEK 3 – REFLECT
The concept of reflecting God’s gory starts with the story of Moses, who saw God and his face glowed. We too, figuratively, must reflect Christ’s image to those around us. We may be the closest thing to Jesus that some of our unsaved friends might see. Are they getting an accurate reflection.
WEEK 4 – CHANGE
This is the culmination of the series and is all about what it will really take in your life to change–surrender. God doesn’t want a piece of us, or even most of us. He wants everything. He wants us to fully surrender our lives to him. The entire message will be an illustration using 3 boxes and laying out the entire story of the Bible from Creation, Sin, Restoration, Salvation, Sanctification, to Glorification.
